About Us

Prism Wealth Management are a team of advisers and support staff that are here to help you to define and achieve your financial objectives, helping to providing you with financial clarity both now and in the future.

We achieve this using simple terminology, doing what we say we are going to do and reviewing the situation on a regular basis.

The team work together to provide you with dedicated support and each has their role to play. For example, your adviser will be your first point of contact, your paraplanner will complete any financial reports that are needed and your administrator will collate information and chase any action required for you. As such, each team member specialises in their own area.

Alun Davies BSc PhD AFPS - Chartered Financial Planner - prism wealth

Alun Davies BSc PhD AFPS

Chartered Financial Planner

After completing my Doctorate in Physics at Cambridge University, I decided to change my focus to making money. What better career than one that teaches how money works?

My years in academia taught me how to pass exams so I quickly passed the basic entry exams to be able to give financial advice. This wasn’t enough for me to feel competent, so I worked for a few years under the guidance of a senior advisor.

Our partnership grew and we formed a company that eventually had 12 advisers and employed 9 support staff with a turnover of circa £2 million. I found myself spending more time working on the company and less time helping clients. Spending time with me is the part most clients appreciate, and it is also the part that I enjoy the most. Furthermore, my business partner was of an age that he looked to retire, so we merged our business into a national firm to solve these issues. This worked for many years as it not only enabled me to concentrate on looking after my clients, but it also afforded me time to pass exams such that I am now chartered.

I found that the framework of a national firm limited my control, so I left that firm to set up a truly independent company with the support of a FTSE 100 company. This enables me to again focus on helping people with their financial matters but in a way that I feel is most beneficial to them.

I provide wealth management advice incorporating investment, pensions and ultimately inheritance tax advice. I believe the times when I am of most value is when your life goes through change, whether that be moving into your first home, marriage, divorce, retirement or even later life planning.

In summary, I have nearly 20 years’ experience of providing comprehensive wealth management service to people. I believe it is important to be honest, moral, explain things in a simple manner and then do what you say you are going to do. I genuinely care for the people I work for and have found it is this, along with my commitment to regular and on-going reviews that people most value.

On a personal level, I’m pleased to say that I found a new love and we have been together about 20 years. I am happily married with two children who are my world.

Lauryn Freeland

Having spent the last seven years working in pharmacy I am very much fresh to the finance industry, even though over the years I have enjoyed counselling, advising and building relationships with my patients, I didn’t feel that the job had been the same after COVID-19, which led me to begin my search for a new career opportunity. In my free time, I returned to college and completed the requirements for a CILEx NVQ level 3 diploma for legal secretaries, which has equipped me with the knowledge and abilities I need for my new role at Prism Wealth.

In my spare time you can usually find me over a football pitch watching my son play for his local team or spending time with my daughter who never stops trying to teach me the latest trends on TikTok. In addition, I have a wonderful partner who like me enjoys travelling, eating delicious food and long walks with our adorable puppy.

James Randall

I have been advising clients for over 25 years many of whom are business owners.

It is not unusual for me to deal with a client from setting up their first pension to retirement and beyond!

I was previously a director and shareholder of a regional advice firm which went through a couple of takeovers , eventually becoming part of a major insurance company.

Whilst I enjoyed my time there, I prefer the flexibility of a smaller firm (which still has the backing of a major company).

My new role has enabled me to spend more time with clients and more importantly with my family.

I also help with the youth section at a local cricket club – where I can often be found trying to not feel too old!
